Selected experience in Australian marine and port operations:

Marine Manager – for P&O Maritime Services, Melbourne. In charge of on-site shipping, agency office and cargo transfer operations in Bing Bong, Northern Territory and the anchorages using own 3200 dwt shuttle bulkcarrier “Aburri”. Export cargo transfer to handysize and Panamax bulkcarriers in the Gulf of Carpentaria, transporting 420.000 MT p.a. zinc and lead concentrate from the inland McArthur River Mine. Acted as local Customs and AQIS representative. 

Port Operator - for KPMG Corporate Finance in Melbourne, Australia. Responsible for selecting Stevedore companies and Terminal Operators. Dealing with marine transport, terminal and stevedore operations, navigation, port infrastructure for the new Westgate Container Terminal in Melbourne.

Marine Incident Inspector - appointed by the Minister for Ports - ad hoc assignments for the Marine Board of Victoria in Melbourne. Various marine accident investigations into inter-ship collisions in Victorian waters and ports and damage to wharf and pier structures by ships.

Surveyor - for Jardine Shipping in Queensland, Australia. Pre-purchase inspections of "Rangitata" in Melbourne for possible trading in Northern Australia.

Marine Inspector & Surveyor - for Sumitomo Fertilizer, Australia. Handymax grab fitted bulkcarrier fertilizer operations, draft surveys, AQIS and AMSA issues.

Port Operator - for Maunsell P/L and P&O Ports - in Sydney, Australia. Project White Bay Terminal, B/Bulk, Ro-Ro and Container infrastructure and wharf transport, cargo handling.

Freight Consultant - for Islanders Board of Industry and Service in Thursday Island, Queensland. Feasibility Study into inter-island ferry transport of airline passengers and luggage.

Shipping Superintendent - for Pivot Ltd. - in Melbourne, Australia. Medium term contract assignments in bulkcarrier scheduling, fertilizer discharge and transport, port operations, quarantine and customs tasks.

Freight Consultant - for Islanders Board of Industry and Service. Port operation & marine infrastructure development on 15 remote outer islands and Northern Peninsular Area. Distribution of food and construction supplies.

Surveyor - lashing, pre-loading, condition, in-stow, damage and pre-delivery surveys on b/bulk cargo, steel cargo, containers combines, harvesters, excavators, timber, plywood and paper reel cargo for Patrick Stevedores / Kuiken, Wood & Associates, FESCO Lines, Western Bulk Carriers CGM Ro-Ro ships.

Cargo Surveyor - for W.K. Webster, Singapore and Sydney / Sun Alliance, UK. Cargo claim surveys, inspecting products in Port of Melbourne and hinterland.

Project Freight Consultant - for Thiess Contractors, Cairns, Australia. Negotiation  with shipping lines for transport of construction material to islands in the Torres Strait, Queensland.

Logistics Consultant - for Victoria University, Monash University, Aus. Chamber of Manufacturers in Melbourne. Conducted workshops and seminars covering port operation, stevedoring, logistics.

Maritime Consultant - for CAERA James Cook University in Queensland. Develop marine transport, ship-to-shore transfer and distribution systems, port infrastructure in North Queensland.

Consultant Author - for the Australian Maritime College in Australia . Wrote the "Operations", a full Study Guide for AMC’s Diploma in Maritime Business - a distance learning program.

Shipping Consultant - for the Museum of Victoria in Melbourne. Research into getting a polar expedition vessel back from Greece to Australia and to be fitted as a Antarctic museum ship.

Flag State Surveyor in Melbourne - for HINSIB in USA and Honduras. Licensed to carry out flag state surveys on behalf of Panama and Honduras and some other countries.

Flag State Surveyor in Melbourne - for International Register of Shipping in USA and Belize. Licensed to carry out flag state surveys for Belize, St. Vincent and Dominica and some other countries.

Senior Consultant - for ITEG / David Syme International Business in Melbourne Australia. Responsible for Marine Transport and Logistics in the International Trade Enhancement Group.

Port of Melbourne Authority / Australia: Operation Development Manager - in total 4 years full time employment in the Port Authority.
