50 years in port operation, marine transport, navigation and cargo handling: 16 years at sea - thereof 10 years as Senior Officer. 4 years as Cargo Superintendent, 6 years as Marine Superintendent, now 17 years as independent marine consultant with maritime and port assignments world wide, many of them funded by WB, ADB and EU.

Selected experience in Polar, Arctic and Antarctic operations:

Inspection of a 50 year Antarctic old polar expedition ship “Barao de Teffe” ex “Thala Dan” in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in order to evaluate and try to move her from the breakers yard to a Museum position in Victoria, Australia.

ARCO project: Project assignment - Marine Operations. Feasibility and cost study - to establish, in one season, an American scientific base on the arctic East Greenland coast using the polar vessel "Icebird".

IMEDE - Switzerland / Denmark: Project assignment - Ships. A research and feasibility study into the future demand of polar supply ships to be used in a 20 year time frame in the Antarctic continent.

Marine Superintendent in J. Lauritzen A/S - inspecting foreign polar ships for potential charter or purchase by J.Lauritzen A/S for their Arctic - Greenland and Antarctic supply and research operations.

Sorte Engel Lead Mine, Arctic West Greenland: Project assignment, feasibility study in using non-ice strengthened Panamax bulkcarriers to load and transport lead ore through the polar ice.

Australian Antarctic Research Expeditions: Chief Officer onboard "Thala Dan”, responsible for ship transfer of personnel and supplies, using amphibians, LARC's, helicopters and snow cats, to the Australian Antarctic bases.

Danyard, Denmark: Superintendent for a 3 month extensive modification of "Thala Dan" a polar expedition ship, fitting a full extra deck and upgrading of cargo gear and helicopter operation / landing facilities.

Expéditions Polaires Françaices: Chief Officer onboard "Thala Dan", responsible for ship transfer of personnel and supplies, uses barges, motorboats, LARC's, helicopters and snow cats, to the French Antarctic bases.

British Antarctic Survey: Crew member onboard "Kista Dan" ship to shore transfer, using, motorboats, sledges and weasels for personnel, goods, equipment, fuel, and supplies to the British Antarctic bases.

Royal Greenland Company: Crew member onboard "Kista Dan" - working in the ship to shore transfer of construction material and supplies to Eskimo/Inuit settlements on the East and West Greenland coast.
