Selected experience in training - marine transport and port operations:

Maritime Operations Specialist in the Maldives Domestic Maritime Transport Project with my office in the Ministry of Transport in Male’ on-site for 3 months and scheduled for further 4 months on-site in the Maldives over the next year or two. Preparation of training material and implementation of on the job training in accordance with the training needs assessment for the Ministry of Transport staff, Maritime section. Verification of proposed harbor charges for North Harbour. Conduct willingness to pay services and provide recommendations. Assistance in ensuring broad based stakeholder consultations develop time bound action plan for proposed harbor usage charges. Assist drafting harbor user charges approval documents according to procedures issued by Attorneys general office. Develop a training program for MCPV PWS staff. Implementation of the training program through formal and on the job training. Development of a harbor management manual. 

Marine Management, Navigation & Operation expert – long term consultant for BCEOM, partner in the 5 nation COWI lead consortium in the GFC (Global Framework Contract) for EU / European Commission. Team Leader and on-site 7.5 months in Bucharest, Constantza and the Danube river ports for the assignment: EU PHARE Program RO 0107.12.02 - Technical assistance to the General Directorate of Maritime, Danube and Inland Waterway Transport in the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Housing, for strengthening its administrative capacity. This project included training and seminars for the Romanian stakeholders. 

Marine Manager – for P&O Maritime Services, Melbourne. In charge of on-site shipping, agency office and cargo transfer operations in Bing Bong, Northern Territory.  That included training local aboriginals in marine transport and cargo handling.  

Navigation & Operation expert – consultant for COWIconsult in the World Bank financed Port Rehabilitation project for Port of Can Tho in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam. It included workshops and training of the port managers in cost effective port operation and cargo handling.

Logistics Consultant - for Victoria University in Melbourne. Conducted workshops and seminars for marine industry people covering port operation, marine transport, stevedoring, and logistics.

Maritime Consultant - for CAERA James Cook University in Townsville, Queensland. Marine transport, ship-to-shore transfer and distribution systems in North Queensland. Advise to government bodies.

Logistics Consultant - for Monash University in Melbourne. Conducted workshops and seminars for marine industry people covering port operation, marine transport, stevedoring, and logistics.

Logistics Consultant - for Aus. Chamber of Manufacturers, VIC. Conducted workshops and seminars for marine industry people covering port operation, marine transport, and stevedoring.

East Asian Conference in Malaysia: Speaker and presenter of paper covering Port and Maritime infrastructure in the 21st century. Followed by several days’ panel discussions with the delegates.

Australian Chamber of Manufacturers: Logistics Consultant - conducted several workshops and seminars in port operation, logistics and international distribution for exporters and importers.

Australian Maritime College - Diploma in Maritime Business: Consultant, wrote the study guide for this long distance learning program: Port operations - Distribution - Types and Technical constraint of ships.

International Trade Enhancement Group (ITEG) Australia: Senior Consultant responsible for the Marine Transport and Logistics section assisting Australian exporters and importers.

Port of Melbourne Authority / Australia: Project Manager responsible for lecturing logistics students, importers and exporters in port administration and cargo operations.

Sivomar Abidjan, Ivory Coast: Technical Instructor and Trainer, teaching local African officers and crew in most aspects of port, marine and cargo operations onboard their own 15.000 dwt ships.

George Stage’s Minde, Denmark: Appointed Examiner for 80 cadets on a 3-masted full rigger sail training ship in North European and Atlantic trade.

J. Lauritzen A/S, Denmark: Project Manager - responsible for the administration and operation of a training vessel, a 90 tonnes top sail schooner "Lilla Dan" for 16 cadets.

J. Lauritzen A/S Denmark: Chief Officer and Trainer - onboard special school ships responsible for training 16 deck apprentices in most aspects of navigation and cargo operations.
